Shapes


Illustrator Notes

(I) Watch Mr. Webb's demonstration and post notes to do the following on your blog:
- Creating a new canvas (document)
     press Command+N to make a new canvas
     3 sections of Adobe Illustrator (Toolbox [left], Menu bar [at the top], Panels [right])
     PROFILE: Print, SIZE: Letter, ORIENTATION: Portait

- Interface navigation, drawing tools (Illustrator's shapes & using the Pen Tool)
    Rectangle Tool (M) - makes squares and rectangles with sharp edges
    Rounded rectangle tool - makes rectangles with rounded edges
    Ellipse tool - draw circles and ovals
    Polygon Tool - draws convex regular polygons.
    Star tool - draws stars; to add more edges tap the up arrow, to remove edges tap the down arrow; to     control the sharpness of the star, hold the command key while drawing the star.

   Selection Tool (V)- looks like a black arrow.  Use to select objects that you want to move, copy or     delete.

    Pen Tool (P) - draws line segments and curves

- Setting the Fill Color, and the Stroke Color
First, select your object or line.  
Second, click on the fill color box to set the fill color. 
OR, click on the stroke color box to set the stroke color

- Saving file formats (saving for Adobe Illustrator editing vs. Saving an image for the web)
Save for Adobe Illustrator = (.ai) <<Can ONLY be opened in Illustrator.
Save for the Internet/Your blog = (.jpeg, .gif, .png) << Can be uploaded to your blog.

Demonstration notes

- Creating a new canvas (document)

Illustrator has 3 main areas:
Tool Box- the left-side area with your tools
Menu Bar
Panels

- Interface navigation, drawing tools (Illustrator's shapes & using the Pen Tool)
The Rectangle Tool(M)
To draw a rectangle with sharp edges click and drag
Ellipse Tool- you can make an an oval or circle
Polygon Tool- you can make a hexagon shape
Star Tool- you can make a star
Flare Tool- you can make a lens flare like in a camera

Digital Art Techinques

Monochromatic- used to describe paintings that used a single color of different lightings.































Negative Space- The space surrounding an object that can be used to make the object pop out, or make it's own picture by making the object look like the background.

Researching Calligrams

A calligram is a picture that been composed entirely out of words.

Calligram 1-
The word that it is saying panther, and is formed into a panther.

Calligram 2-
This is picture of an ant, and the words are describing the parts of the ant.

A pictogram is a picture that gets its message across without words.
Pictogram 1- 
Row 1:The staff of the airlines
Row 2:The checking of passengers at the airport
Row 3:The Baggage check-out area
Row 4:Bag storage

A rebus is an english sentence that substituted for picture that mean or are homonyms to the word.

The use a star, the w sound, and ores.

They get rid of the r in ring and replace it with a k.

They use a can, a "u", a "c", and a well.
